Donkeys are incredibly resilient and have a unique charm that captivates the hearts of all who encounter them. They have served humanity for centuries as loyal companions, hardworking laborers, and steadfast friends. Despite their important roles, donkeys are often overlooked or mistreated. The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is dedicated to changing this narrative by providing shelter, medical care, and a life-long home to donkeys in need.

Our Holiday Appeal is an opportunity for you to have a meaningful impact on the lives of these exceptional and deserving animals. Your contribution will go towards providing essential care, food, shelter, and veterinary services to donkeys who have faced neglect, abuse, or hardship. Your gift can help heal their physical and emotional wounds, and it will also enable us to continue our educational programs to raise awareness and promote understanding about donkey welfare.

The cost of caring for each donkey or mule is $2,500 per year. 

 Here are some ways your donation can make a difference:

Your donation of $50 will provide:

A month of pre and probiotics for Hummer
Enrichment activities for Nitro and Caesar
 A month of grain for Phoebe

Your gift of $100 will provide:

1 dental examination to keep Patrick smiling
A week’s supply of hay for one of our mule groups
1 month’s supply of medication for Beans

Support at the $250 level will provide:

1 winter blanket to keep Blue warm on the cold days
A year’s worth of farrier trims for Eeyore
2 days’ worth of hay for the entire DSC population
