Meet Chevy

Before Chevy arrived at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC), he resided on a farm with livestock in western Ontario. Chevy was used for breeding purposes and when he was restricted from breeding, he developed behavioral issues. On the advice of the DSC, Chevy was gelded but the behavior remained the same. At this point, Chevy came to the DSC.

Chevy arrived in the late spring of 2020. He managed appropriately with small group housing and behavioral training. With time and dedicated work, Chevy was able to join a large herd of geldings and eventually was able to be placed on a Host Farm where he is a now a companion for a personal donkey that was alone on the farm.
