Meet Julius

Before arriving at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC), Julius and his longtime companion, Petey, spent many years living together on a private farm in the Central Ontario. They were lovingly cared for by their owner. After the pair experienced ongoing hoof challenges caused by the wet conditions on their farm and both donkeys developed white line disease, their owners ultimately made the compassionate decision that Julius and Petey would receive the specialized care and support they needed at the DSC, and requested that they come here.

Julius is a curious and observant donkey and has integrated nicely into our herd of geldings.
