Austin

Austin and his brother, Bentley, came to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC) in 2012, when their caregivers decided to sell the farm.

Neither donkey had much handling before coming to the DSC, so both Austin and Bentley were nervous and skittish around people. While Bentley relaxed quite quickly, Austin remained shy and stayed on the sidelines.

His training has included lots of patient handling by DSC staff and volunteers, to help him learn that being with people is not threatening. He is progressing slowly.

Austin will remain under the protection and care of The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada for the remainder of his life.
