Carmen

In early 2015, Carmen’s owner realized that she might no longer be able to take care of her four little donkeys—Carmen, Jesse, Blue and Jasmine—and she contacted the DSC as a possible new home for them.

We were happy to bring Carmen and her friends to the Sanctuary Farm in the summer of 2015.

In 2024 this gentle jenny  moved to a Host Farm, where she’s become a wonderful companion to Lucy, a lonely donkey in need of a friend. Carmen is living her best life, soaking up one-on-one time and scratches, and Lucy is  happy to have gained such a sweet friend. We’re so happy for Carmen in her new role and thrilled to see her spreading love wherever she goes!
