Diamond Standard Donkey

Diamond

Diamond is a white standard jennet we estimate was born in 2007. Diamond and her three offspring lived on a farm in Southwestern Ontario until they were surrendered to the DSC in August 2013 after the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA investigated reported neglect at the farm. Diamond and her children, Pearl, Jasper and a two week old foal arrived at the DSC that month.

When Diamond first came to the DSC, her hooves were overgrown and she was malnourished. Our farrier and vet got to work on her right away. Diamond is very leery of humans at this point but with the constant handling and love from staff and volunteers, she has quickly learned she is in a safe place. Nowadays she lives in the barnyard and enjoys the company of her new donkey friends.
