Jennet (female donkey)
Diamond lived on a farm in Southwestern Ontario until she was surrendered to the DSC after the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA investigated and found neglect at the farm. Diamond and her children, Pearl (3), Jasper (2), and a two-week-old foal Ruby were brought to the DSC immediately.
Diamond suffered from overgrown hooves and malnourishment. She had little human contact so was leery of people. It was also discovered that Diamond was pregnant at the time of her admission, and she gave birth to Flint in July 2014.
Diamond has learned to trust people again and is most content with Pearl in the jennet paddock.
