Heide

Heide came to the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada from a very loving home in Alberta, where she was well cared for and deeply cherished. Her previous owners wanted her to spend her golden years in the company of other donkeys, enjoying life in a sanctuary setting, so Heide made the journey to join us.

She arrived alongside her longtime companion, Hank, on a large equine transport trailer, and just like him, she got her moment of fame with a special appearance on the shipper’s social media!

Heide has already started to show her personality here at the Sanctuary. Like many of our minis, she’s known to give a gentle headbutt when she’s looking for attention! She’s a sweet and curious donkey.
