Two Donkeys Grazing

Jasper

Jasper is a grey dun Standard gelding who was born in 2011. Jasper, along with his mother and two siblings was living on a farm in Southwestern Ontario, until they were surrendered to the DSC in August 2013 after the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA investigated reported neglect at the farm.

When Jasper, his two sisters and his mom, first arrived at the Sanctuary farm he was very fearful of people and it was apparent that he had not received much handling over his short life. Veterinarian and farrier care were slowly started after a week, to give him time to adjust to his new surroundings. His training will include lots of patient handling by DSC staff and volunteers, so he may learn that being with people isn’t threatening.

Jasper and his family will remain under the protection and care of The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada for the remainder of their lives.
