Luke

Before coming to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC), Luke and his donkey friend, Chewy, lived on a farm in the Halton Area. A family had these two geldings for 23 years, practically all their lives, and loved them dearly, but were having difficulty managing their health needs and realized that it was time for them to come to the DSC.

Both donkeys were admitted for lifelong care in the summer of 2023.

Like many donkeys we encounter, they are chubby from years of overfeeding which has contributed to some health problems. Luke and Chewy currently reside in our Special needs herd, where they are often seen exploring their new surroundings and getting used to their daily routines here at the DSC.
