Luna

Little was known about Luna’s background when she was brought to the DSC, but her unusually highly-strung behaviour suggested she may have been separated from her mother at too young an age. She also showed ambivalence toward humans, clearly desiring attention but becoming overly demanding and even nipping at arms. To help her adjust, DSC staff and volunteers remained consistent and firm in their interactions with her. Over time, Luna became much more polite!

Soon after Luna’s arrival at the DSC,  Curly Sam was taken in for lifelong care as well. He is a small Standard donkey gelding, very easy-going and calm. It quickly became clear that Luna and Curly Sam preferred to be in each other’s company. The pair became part of our Host Farm Network together.
