Meet Bonnie

Before coming to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC) Bonnie and her companion Buttons lived on a farm in the Hamilton Area.

Bonnie is a sweet and gentle jenny who has always known kind care. When her owner’s health began to decline, it became increasingly difficult for them to continue caring for Bonnie and Buttons. Together, the two made their way to the DSC in late fall of 2025, where they could remain side by side and receive the support they needed.

While Bonnie is a bit more reserved than her friend Buttons, we are already seeing glimpses of her gentle personality shine through. With time, patience, and continued care, we know Bonnie’s confidence will continue to grow and she will feel more settled in her new surroundings.
