Meet Petey

Before arriving at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC), Petey and his longtime companion, Julius, spent many years living together on a private farm in the Central Ontario. They were lovingly cared for by their owner. After the pair experienced ongoing hoof challenges caused by the wet conditions on their farm and both donkeys developed white line disease, their owners ultimately made the compassionate decision that Julius and Petey would receive the specialized care and support they needed at the DSC. The two donkeys arrive in the spring of 2026.
