Phoenix

Phoenix is a 5-year-old wild burro jenny from Arizona. Wild born and raised, she was taken from the wild in January 2023 before coming to us from a farm near Ottawa. She has a strong flight instinct and even snorts quite a bit—a unique behaviour we’ve never seen in donkeys before. Phoenix has an exciting journey ahead as she learns to trust and adapt to her new environment. With patience and gentle training, we’re hopeful she’ll settle in and thrive here at the sanctuary. She’s a beauty!
