Rachel

Before coming to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC), Rachel and her two donkey friends, Ross, and Phoebe, lived on a farm near Ottawa. All three donkeys were well loved and cared for by their previous owner. When it was discovered that one of Rachel’s donkey friends had ongoing medical problems that made it too difficult for their owner to care for them, as they were also struggling with her own health issues, the heartbreaking decision was made to have the three friends come to the DSC.

The three donkeys arrived in the summer of 2023.

Rachel is a very sweet and gentle donkey, who loves attention. She might be small but doesn’t put up with anything from her paddock mates.
