Welcome to the DSC’s Virtual Learning Centre—our library of expert-led videos, designed to help owners provide the best possible care to the donkeys and mules in their lives.
The goal of our Virtual Learning Centre is to share the knowledge that our donkey care experts have accrued over time, on topics ranging from daily care and nutrition to overall well-being and more.
We make this knowledge freely available in order to improve donkey welfare everywhere, as well as to strengthen our community of donkey and mule caregivers. This growing library is made possible thanks to the generosity of DSC supporters, whose contributions make these resources available to owners across Canada and internationally, too.
An overview of the essentials involved in caring for donkeys, some vital terminology and definitions, plus a discussion of the differences between horses and donkeys as well as among donkeys themselves. (14 minutes)
Stay tuned for our next video! We’ll take a deeper look at the nutritional needs and feeding habits of donkeys and mules. (20 minutes)
Please check back in early 2026 for the next three videos in our educational series.
