When you choose to sponsor a donkey or mule at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, you help to provide vital, year-round care.
When you choose to sponsor a donkey, mule, or hinny, whether for yourself or as a gift for someone else, you’re helping make a meaningful difference in an animal’s life.. Sponsorships are just $10/month or $75 per year, and your support provides essentials like nutritious food, medicine, veterinary and farrier care, shelter, safe fencing, training, education, and so much more.
Every sponsorship includes (note: if this is a gift, we’ll send all of this to your gift recipient):
Please note: After we receive your sponsorship form and payment, it takes about two weeks to process your order, prepare your kit, and mail it out. Delivery times may vary depending on Canada Post.
Sponsorships last for a period of one year. We will send a note to inquire if you would like to renew your sponsorship before it expires, though! So if you choose, you can keep supporting your sponsor donkey or mule.
Yes absolutely! There is a spot on the form where you may indicate whether the sponsorship is for you or for someone else. This is a very popular option!
Yes, absolutely you may sponsor a different donkey. We are grateful for your support.
Your sponsorship will help to pay for shelter, nutrition, vet care and farrier care for your chosen donkey. We couldn’t do this work without you.
Generally it takes about two weeks from the time we receive your sponsorship form and payment, assembling your sponsor kit and mailing it out via Canada Post. Actual mailing time is beyond our control and determined by Canada Post.
During really busy seasons (like the December holiday season), it’s best to give as much lead time as possible if you are considering a gift sponsorship.
The sponsorship donor will receive a tax receipt for the donation with the sponsorship package. If it is a gift sponsorship, the sponsorship package will be sent to the gift recipient and the tax receipt will be sent separately to the donor.
